Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society recognized in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia
On May 26, 2025, MLA Lynne Block (BC Conservatives, West Vancouver–Capilano) delivered a statement in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, commending the Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society for its efforts in addressing housing affordability through the Village West development in West Vancouver.
Block highlighted the project’s commitment to providing 156 rental units at 75% of market rates, targeting middle-income earners such as teachers, nurses, and first responders. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives in retaining essential workers within the community and praised the collaborative efforts between Kiwanis, the District of West Vancouver, and provincial and federal partners.
The Village West project, ahead of its original schedule, is now expected to welcome residents by November 2025. Block’s acknowledgment in the legislature underscores the significance of community-driven solutions in tackling the housing crisis.
