How To Apply

Those wishing to submit an application must completely fill in the Application Form (see download button below) and enclose the information required as well as any other relevant information that you believe will assist us in the resident selection process.

Eligibility

To qualify for independent living units, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 55 years or older (except for Lynn Manor where the minimum age is 65 years), capable of living independently and be a non-smoker.
  • Resided in British Columbia for at least 12 months at the time of application.
  • Income less than $84,780 (this figure is for applications in 2024) for the household (single persons or couples), and assets must not exceed $500,000. Copies of your Notice of Assessment issued by CRA for the previous two years (pages from your tax return which details the types of income you earned for those two years) and Bank Statements for the previous three months must be attached to your housing application form.
  • Proof of tenant’s insurance that must include a general insurance liability clause of $1,000,000 is required at the move-in inspection date (KNSHS can refer you).
  • Preference is given to current North Shore residents
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • ALL Kiwanis properties are non-smoking.

Please be advised there is a high demand for below-market rental suites. We are unable to guarantee housing. Selected eligible applicants will be contacted for further screening. Preference will be given to North Shore residents.

If you are applying for assisted living units, you must apply through Vancouver Coastal Health.
