How To Apply

Those wishing to submit an application must completely fill in this form and enclose a photocopy of your most recent Income Tax Assessment, as well as any other relevant information that you believe will assist the Board in making its selection.


To qualify for independent living units, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 65 years or older, capable of living independently and be a non-smoker
  • Resided in British Columbia for at least 12 months
  • Income less than $48,000 for a single person (or $60,000 for a couple), and your assets must not exceed $400,000. Copies of your income Tax Return for the previous two years and bank statements for the previous three months must be attached to your application.
  • Proof of tenant’s insurance that must include a general insurance liability clause of $1,000,000 is required at the move-in inspection (KNSHS can assist you with this).
  • Preference is given to North Shore residents
  • Pets are not allowed
  • ALL Kiwanis properties are “Non Smoking”

If you are applying for assisted living units, you must apply through Vancouver Coastal Health.
